Custom Etched Nameplates
How it works
Choose the names you want for your locos, pick from one of the nameplate styles we offer, let us know what size they should be. We'll take care of the rest.
Our nameplates are produced in batches, a more cost-effective method than etching each pair individually. This means there may be a short wait for your order depending on demand, but we aim to keep you informed throughout.
Once a batch of artwork is ready to etch, we will contact you to confirm the final price and arrange payment. All our regular plates are etched on 0.3mm brass.
If you want a more specific style - either for name or works plates, just let us know. We also have some sets of works plates which can be ordered "off the shelf".
Prices
Our prices are set to reflect the work involved in drawing artwork for each request, and the cost of a one-off photo tool for each batch that is etched. However there is a saving available on larger orders as economies of scale can be more easily met.
All prices include postage.

NEW Painted Plates
We can now supply nameplates painted, as an optional extra. For this an additional charge of £2.00 is added for the whole order. You can specify a red or black background while filling out the order form, or order a combination of painted and unpainted plates.
NEW 16mm:ft scale
Following several requests we are also now producing plates on thicker 0.5mm brass to suit 16mm:ft scale. Due to the increased size these cost £8.00 per pair, and the batch frequency may be extended compared to our regular runs. Please email us with your interest in 16mm:ft plates, or clearly state in the notes field that you want 0.5mm brass.
Order Form
Your personal details are only used in relation to processing your order. We will never pass them on to any other organisation.
Total price displayed is an estimate only, we reserve the right to adjust the final price depending on your requirements.
* A note about sizing: Our focus is mainly 4mm:ft/OO9 although we are happy to produce plates for any scale you like. Typically OO9 nameplates work out at around 2mm high. In 7mm:ft scale we suggest 3mm for smaller locos or 4.5mm for larger ones. For 16mm:ft scale around 9mm height is typical. However we recommend you measure the intended position on the loco (if possible) to get a feel for how much space is available.
Nameplate styles
We have a number of "standard" plate styles to order immediately but you can always add a note to your order or get in touch if you want something more specific.
